Mont-Blanc at SC19, Denver
November 29, 2019

The Mont-Blanc 2020 project was present at SC19, both on the exhibition floor and in the conference programme.
We shared booth 2215 with other European funded projects (Aspide, EVOLVE, eXaQUte, ICEI-Fenix, Lexis, MAESTRO), under the joint title European Exascale Projects and Infrastructure. The booth was strategically located, close to an entrance, and not too far from the other European booths. Daily raffles brought a crowd in front of the booth every day at 13:00! And several lucky visitors won the smart prizes offered by Aspide, Fenix and Lexis.

Mentor Graphics had kindly let us have a Veloce blade to exhibit – the emulation platform used by Mont-Blanc 2020 to emulate our SoC. The impressive board captured the attention of many visitors.

Once again, Mont-Blanc was at the Arm HPC User Group (AHUG) workshop, with a presentation of the performance studies done by BSC with POP CoE metrics on our Dibona prototype (speaker Filippo Mantovani), as well as a mention of the Mont-Blanc 2020 contribution in the presentation done by EPI‘s Yingchih Yang. All presentations are available on the Arm developer website: https://developer.arm.com/solutions/hpc/presentations.
Finally, our coordinator Said Derradji (Atos) was one of the speakers/panelists at Arm’s BoF Can Arm Take the Lead in HPC? – a very succesful BoF in terms of audience size!
