The BSC associate researcher Paul Carpenter highlighted the Mont-Blanc project during the special day session about “High-Performance Low-Power Computing”. This Hot-Topic Session explored both system architecture and applications to reach better energy efficiency. Different approaches were presented to improve energy efficiency.
Under the title of “Experiences with Mobile Processors for energy-efficient HPC“, Carpenter updated the audience about the different computer architectures that the Barcelona Supercomputing Center is working on to tacke the various challenges in the direction of energy-efficient Exascale systems. Some interesting questions were raised at the end of this 20-minutes session.
